That’s a wrap – Bike Week 2017
Another fantastic, packed Bike Week has come and gone with 27 events crammed into just nine days.
Getting so many old and new people from the bike sector together across such varied activities is a great mobilisation of forces for good! We saw everything from the Minister for Main Roads Mark Bailey out and about on his bike, a woman riding her first ever 25km in the Women’s Pier to Point Ride and a small child riding the Family Fun Ride without training wheels for the first time.
On an academic note, we heard Tim Blumenthal from People for Bikes in the USA regaling the audience at the Australian Bicycle Summit with his experiences of taking the last three US Presidents for a ride. Bike Week 2017 really had something for everyone and made more people think about bikes more often! Thank you to all riders who joined us across the week.
